プロダクトデザインを軸に、コンセプト設計、アートディレクション、ブランディング、アートワーク制作まで、構想から実装を横断する総合的なクリエイティブを手がける。電子・デジタル製品から、日用品、家具、研究機器まで、領域やスケールを問わず幅広い製品開発に従事。異分野のクリエイターとの共創を通じて、自然・人・社会の関係性を主題とした創作も行う。伝統技術と現代技術を横断する「インダストリアルクラフト」にも注力。地域や企業に内在する風土や本質を起点に、新たな価値や体験をかたちにし、その先に良い循環を生み出すプロセスをデザインする。京都を拠点に活動。

Founder of STUDIO YOSHIHIRO MIKAMI.
Creating starting points for new perceptions and narratives.
With product design at its core, the studio works across concept development, art direction, branding, and artwork, spanning the process from conception to implementation.
Its product development ranges from electronic devices and digital products to everyday objects, furniture, and research equipment, crossing disciplines and scales.
Through collaborations with creators from diverse fields, Mikami also develops works that explore the relationships between nature, people, and society.
He is also committed to “Industrial Craft,” an approach that bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technology.
Drawing on the character and essence inherent in places and organizations, he gives form to new values and experiences while designing processes that generate positive cycles beyond the outcome itself.
Based in Kyoto, Japan.
