enter / exit Shoehorn / 2016

A minimal shoehorn created by combining two contrasting materials: metal, which allows relatively flexible manufacturing, and stone, which presents greater constraints in shaping and production.

A neodymium magnet embedded in the marble base allows the stainless-steel shoehorn to attach smoothly and precisely.

Through the relationship between these different materials, the object proposes a subtle interpretation of “entrance” and “exit” — exploring the boundaries and connections between people, objects, materials, and space.
